There have been rumblings in the media (again) about whether or not Simon Cowell will stay with American Idol beyond 2010, the end of his current contract.

What’s interesting is that people like and detest Simon Cowell for the same thing: His pointed praise and biting criticism. Judging, in some senses, is predicting the future. And in a couple of noted cases, Simon got it wrong. dead wrong.

One of the biggest misses was on the Chris Daughtry audition (shown below). Cowell voted AGAINST sending Daughtry to the Hollywood round. In the end, of course, Daughtry has become one of the shining American Idol alumni.

Another whiff was voting AGAINST Jennifer Hudson going to Hollywood.
