American Idol’s Crystal Takes The Night

Never confuse Patsy Cline with Minnie

  • Young Katie Stevens did a song that Kelly Clarkson did. The singing was flat; judges kept saying she is good but doesn’t know who she is. I know who she is. She isn’t good enough. If she were a great singer with no identity in her choice of songs then I would agree with them, but they are dead wrong. This girl doesn’t have “it”.
  • Siobhan has been my favorite, and chose the Animals’ “House of the Rising Sun”. It started like an operetta. I don’t  like this version at all, and she may have blown her chance to stay on for the next round. I’m very sad about this choice. I agreed with Simon, which I am not happy sbout, ever!
  • Lacey chose “The Story”, which bored me instead of keeping my interest. I just don’t see an American recording artist tonight, yet. It just fell flat.
  • Katelynn did a kareoke version of “I Feel the Earth Move” I felt nothing!  She didn’t even mean it.  Everyone {judges} agreed she phoned it in.
  • Didi did a generic version of “Rhiannon” I don’t care for Stevie Nicks, so this was better, but not much.
  • Paige was a mess doing “Smile”. It started out flat and wobbly. I felt sorry for her.
  • Crystal was just the best doing “Give Me One Reason” She is one girl who knows how to fuse soul and funk into a song, and sell it. She made me forget that I ever like Siobhan.
  • Lilly sounded like Minnie Mouse doing Patsy Cline‘s “I Fall To Pieces”. This is a song you  can sink your teeth into, and she blew it, made it a folk song.

I wish they would go back to three judges. It is just redundant by the time it gets to the 4th opinion. They can’t even think of what else to say.
