American Idol: Winding Down
- Lee did a brilliant job with 5 horns on stage, 3 girl singers, he moved around,, did “The Letter” Loved it!
- Paige right out of the gate , the worst. She is gone, gone, gone. Please, go away, it hurts.
- Tim chose a song, “Crazy thing called love” Queen. He is not ready. I really like him as a personality, weak vocals, very weak, ouch.
- Aaron is sick, that has to be so hard, so much pressure and he gets sick. “Don’t Want To Miss a Thing“ one of nm favs, he started fine! He sang over it. So far, Tim and Paige are in the bottom two. It was OK, but just OK.
- Crystal chose a song perfect for her, Janis Joplins, “Me and Bobby McGee”. If anyone can pull this off it is her. She may win this year. She is a great singer. I don’t use that word a lot. She nailed it for me.
- Mike chose “When a Man Loves A Woman” He started tender with strings, romantic and sexy, then he got into his R&B soulful passionate singing. I predict, the last 3 standing, Siobhan, Mike and Crystal.
- Andrew was next , his “Grapevine” was lacking soul, and staccato. I wish I could have coached him. he will be in the bottom with this horrible performance. Poor Randy, was ahhh dawg, it wasn’t good, I agree. All the judges agreed, I feel for him. I had high hopes for him.
- OK here we go, Katie. Will she be joining Paige tomorrow at the bottom? Like so many sweet pretty teens who stayed on because the pretty little teens were voting, I just don’t think she belongs up there. Here, on the commercial we hear Lea Michelle. Wow, reminds me of what we are looking for. The singers in Glee are amazing. I was right, she went so flat pretty soon into Fergie’s, “Big Girls Don’t Cry” Her head voice is weak, almost there. Almost isn’t good enough. The show feels very long when you have to sit through the judges redundant comments. Tonight, they seem to agree on everything.
- Casey is up next with his big chance to be on tour. The one leaving tonight misses the tour and a lot of money from the Ford “ commercials. He chose the wonderful Huey Lewis “Power Of Love” He has his fans, and in the future will get better and better, but he didn’t give the greatest performance. he will stay on awhile.
- Didi performed Linda Ronstadt”s “You’re No Good” was, well, No Good. It was like “Fever”, very flat, sharp, all over the place.
- Siobhan brings it every week, she is one of the last standing, no doubt. She looked really contemporary and hip tonight, performing “Superstition.”
We will see if I am right tomorrow night. The unlucky one to not tour is leaving us tomorrow, and if I could pick, it would be 3 or 4 instead of one.
This is one tour I would not mind missing.
