Glenn Miller Orchestra

In 2006, I received a phone call from an old friend, Larry O’Brien. Larry had played trombone in the Casino de Paris Orchestra, at the Dunes, when I was the show’s featured vocalist.

Larry was now the ‘official band leader‘ of the Glenn Miller Orchestra. The orchestra is licensed by the Glenn Miller Foundation, using authentic charts, and a full size big band.

The band was performing two nights at the Cannery Casino, and its featured female vocalist would not be available for the second night, due to a family emergency. “Could I fill in?”

Of course I said YES!, and with 48 hours of intense practice, it was time to help front the band. Nothing like the sound of a 12-piece horn section to bring the excitement.
